Privacy

We collect only what we need to run useful sessions, keep the room safe, and follow up on the choices you make.

What we collect

Registration records include your name, email, company or project, primary role, what you are looking for, what you can offer, chosen session, consent choices, and — if you provide them — what you are building and your LinkedIn URL. We also record the Social Contract version you accepted and registration timestamps.

For abuse prevention, we may store a one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store the raw IP address in your registration record.

Why we collect it

We use this information to manage attendance, send the confirmation and private meeting link, understand what the room needs, make useful introductions, prevent abuse, and improve future sessions.

Who can see it

In Phase 1, registration information is private to RainForge stewards. Selecting “share my offer/ask with other members” changes nothing today. It records your choice for a future member directory, which will not publish anything until that feature exists and its safeguards are in place.

Email choices

Session emails and the newsletter are separate consents. Session emails are used to confirm your registration and send session information. The optional newsletter is the weekly RainForge note and can be unsubscribed from with one click.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Registration data is stored in Supabase and retained for 24 months. To request deletion sooner, email hello@rainforge.ca. We will verify the request using your email address before deleting the record.

Analytics

We use Plausible for cookieless site analytics that does not collect personal data. We do not send names, email addresses, company details, LinkedIn URLs, or free-text registration answers to analytics.
